Not all areas are suitable for sprinkler systems. Nitrogen is an effective solution to prevent fire.


Fire prevention using nitrogen

Freezer rooms, server rooms/UPS, areas with electrical panels and/or batteries, silos with powder, or other areas where sensitive products/materials are present, can often not be protected by standard extinguishing systems. In the event of a fire, sprinklers will only cause damage. In addition, you are not preventing the fire, you are only fighting it.  

In certain situations, existing extinguishing systems are not a suitable solution. This may be because of the vulnerability of the products stored or because the space is so compact (automatic storage) that not all areas can be reached, which is obviously particularly important. A fire prevention system can be a better solution.  

Our systems prevent fire by reducing the oxygen level within an area. By doing so, an oxygen-deficient environment is created and the risk of a fire or explosion can be prevented. However, it is important that the space in which the fire prevention takes place has a low leakage rate and that people working in the area follow guidelines laid out in BSEN 16750. We offer a feasibility study to see if fire prevention by nitrogen is a suitable solution, for your organization. 

One system for multiple spaces

Depending on the stored product, the desired oxygen percentage is determined. We then look at how we can deploy the solution in the most energy-efficient way. Of course, it is quite possible that different rooms require different oxygen levels. Our system can be used to monitor multiple rooms under different nitrogen percentages. This makes it efficient and energy-saving.

An energy efficient solution

Air compressors, which are used to produce nitrogen, are known as energy guzzlers. In addition, the lowest possible compressed air factor is important for energy consumption. Presscon uses one of the most efficient compressors in the market and our HPSA systems have a particularly low compressed air factor. So you save a lot on energy consumption. Our compensated and patented oxygen sensors measure very accurately, because we can switch on hundredths (instead of tenths %). This enables us to achieve a very stable level with a deviation of one tenth and our systems are energy-saving. In addition, a very long service life is characteristic of our systems.
