The Presscon PV-Series vacuum overpressure protectors provide protection for your vertical buffer tank from overpressure and vacuum. The vacuum overpressure protector is placed on the roof of the vertical buffer tank. This enables the vacuum overpressure protector to protect the vertical buffer tank against vacuum and overpressure.
The vacuum overpressure protector can also be used in combination with other products, like Biogas and petrochemical (Atex).
How does the Presscon Vacuum overpressure protector work?
If the pressure of the nitrogen above the water increases due to refilling, expansion and/or steam generation, the working pressure valve opens. If it cannot handle it, the maximum pressure side of the vacuum pressure relief valve opens. An open connection to the outside air is created. Excess nitrogen can flow out through the opening. The working pressure valve remains open until the pressure equals the working pressure. If the pressure continues to rise, the pressure relief valve also opens when the maximum excess pressure is reached. The vacuum overpressure safety valve remains open until the pressure drops below the maximum overpressure. The moment the pressure drops and a vacuum occurs, the vacuum valve allows air into the tank. This is to prevent negative pressure from forming, causing the tank to implode.
